Stay safe, don't let your guard down

As communities and businesses are opening, you may be looking for ways to resume some daily activities as safely as possible. While there is no way to ensure zero risk of infection, it is important to understand potential risks and how to adopt different types of prevention measures to protect yourself and to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
When you can leave home and be around others depends on different factors for different situations. In general, the more closely you interact with others and the longer that interaction, the higher the risk of COVID-19 spread. But if it is absolutely necessary to go out then remember:
- Keep Your Distance: maintain six feet of space between you and other people even when wearing a facial covering. Assume that everyone is carrying the virus, even if they aren’t showing symptoms.
- Wash Your Hands: especially if you’ve been in public spaces or coughed or sneezed into them. Use soap and water, scrubbing thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. Dry them thoroughly. If you can’t wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
- Wear a Facial Covering: facial coverings are meant to protect others from you. No mask guarantees protection, so it’s crucial that you continue to practice social distancing even when wearing a facial covering.
Let's be disciplined to contribute to stop the spread of this disease, the sooner we do it, the sooner we will be back to normal.
As a reminder, if you have COVID-19, have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, it is important to stay home and away from other people.
